Stephanie Schroeder

As a teenager growing up in Wisconsin, I worked on a local produce farm. My rural farmer-employer’s statement that I would be “pickin’ plantin’ and plowin’ pickles and eating green pole beans right off the stalk” for the rest of my life inspired me to get the hell outta the Midwest and make my way to NYC to live my dream of being a writer.

My interview with Margaret Cho just after the DNC spawned a televised revolution. My profile of NYC literary darlings T Cooper and Felicia Luna Lemus made a splash. My theater and restaurant reviews have a cult following. I am an experienced, creative & high energy writer with solid wordsmithing skills. The broad range of genres I work in lend themselves to an all-around, capable and confident writer & editor with a unique talent for scouting out new and untapped sources and resources.

I have published erotic fiction, personal and political essays, profiles, interviews, reviews and features in various genres. I am currently a freelance Contributing Editor at Curve Magazine where I publish features about art, fashion, music, culture, relationships and politics as well as blog at www.curvemag.com. I also write movie reviews and celebrity interviews for the Lesbian Life section of About.com. I am currently at work on my memoir, Beautiful Wreck: Sex, Lies & Suicide.
